The English Teacher Training College TEFL (Trinity CertTESOL) course is ideal for candidates seeking an entry-level TEFL qualification. Successful applicants will be admitted to our four-month TEFL (Trinity CertTESOL) course in Austria.
English is your first language (i.e. mother tongue) OR you speak English at a native level AND have lived the majority of your life in a native-English speaking country
You have qualifications that would allow entry to Higher Education e.g. A-Levels, Highers, High School diploma, International Baccalaureate etc or higher
You are at least 18 years of age
You have a demonstrable interest in teaching English and working with children
You have the ability and desire to serve as a cultural ambassador for your home country
An ideal candidate would have a bachelor’s degree (not necessarily in education), or plans to attend university in the future, and have experience working with young learners (particularly experience in non-traditional, active teaching environments, such as summer camps, youth groups or outdoor education), however all candidates are considered.
Due to the intensive nature of the course, trainees must be motivated and have a strong drive to become an ESL teacher. Professional awareness and development are an ongoing theme throughout the course. Successful trainees must demonstrate an awareness of the needs of other colleagues in the team, teaching and non-teaching, and the value of mutual support in the teaching, learning and training environment. They must also demonstrate an awareness of the need for professional development during and after the course, based on a constructive response to training input and feedback from tutors and peers.
Successful candidates must produce a valid background check before attending the course. The college will provide the successful applicant with the paperwork required to apply for a student visa to study in Austria (not required for EU applicants).
